Ingredients Which Go With Italian Olive Oil

Italian olive oil is a type of product that deserves to be consumed on its own, provided people have the taste for it. As healthy and tasty as this product is on its own, though, it should be noted that different spices can be brought into the fold as well. What are some of the reasons for this, you may wonder? If you would like to know, here are just a few examples that you'd be wise to bring into your regimen, making it that much better in the process.

If you're going to add spices to your Italian olive oil, do not overlook the importance of pepper. The taste of such a spice is familiar, to many people, but you may be curious to know about its specific nutritional benefits. The most common nutrients, as far as pepper is concerned, come in the forms of manganese, dietary fiber, and vitamin K. What this means is that pepper is one of the many potential spices for any culinary enthusiast to take advantage of.

Following up on this, Italian olive oil may also benefit from the integration of oregano. Belonging to the mint family of spices, oregano is pretty common in Italian cooking, meaning that those who share this background will attest to the accents it can bring to the table. As far as nutrition is concerned, oregano is a great source of vitamin K, which is needed to help smaller wounds stop bleeding after time has passed. Consider oregano to make your oil healthier and tastier as well.

This type of olive oil may also benefit from the inclusion of garlic. This is a great spice in its own right, regardless of your familiarity with Italian cuisine. Along with its strong taste that most people can attest to, garlic comes with its own nutrients, the most prominent being vitamin B6 and manganese. As long as you add only a small amount - you do not need too much of this, after all - you'll start to see why garlic stands out so much in its own right.

Keep in mind that these are just a few ingredients which can help your Italian olive oil. You will consume different foods for many reasons, one of the most important being the taste it possesses. Who is to say that these particular ingredients couldn't bring something a bit more unique to the table? As long as you are mindful of just how much of each is added, since the oil's natural taste shouldn't be entirely cloaked, you should be fine.
