The call will give them something to look forward to each day. No to mention it will ease your mind to know that they are doing well. Most people just need to know that someone is thinking about them throughout the day. A call can and usually will make a big difference in a persons emotional outlook.

Many worry about them cooking and preparing meals on their own. There is always a big concern that a fire will start and the senior may not be able to get out of the home in time. Home caregivers perform important functions which ensure that their clients can remain in the comfort of their home.

Consider hiring a private duty aide. A private duty aide is always a great addition to an aging persons life. Ask visitors to remove their shoes in the hallway. Not everyone feels comfortable asking visitors to remove their shoes. However, it is a practice that is being used a lot in many homes. You can always provide guests with a pair of slippers. Be sure to have slippers appropriate for male and female guests. Keep large rugs in front of your door. The rugs will encourage family members and guests to wipe their feet before entering the home. This will keep the grime and dirt from being tracked on your carpets or hardwood floors. Vacuuming and mopping can be quite time consuming, especially if you have to do it every day. Keep these things in mind when entertaining guests for the holidays. Be sure to ask home health aides to help with tasks that are too difficult.
