Burn Weeds To Get Rid Of Them Permanently

By Claudine Hodges

There are times when you just cannot get rid of tiny weed plants that grow in a place where they are not supposed to. When it is in your garden it can be easily remedied. All you have to do is get a shovel and simply digging them out. But when they have placed themselves strategically, like say the concrete pathway, you may find that this is not a very easy task to accomplish.

There are several ways on how you can get rid of these sprouts. You can use chemicals that are intended for these purpose. But you have to be careful about the down side of this method. That is why it is recommended that you just burn weeds instead of spraying chemical mixtures. This is the natural alternative.

There is a particular equipment that you can use to guarantee that they will not sprout again. Weed torches are often available in gardening stores. Other people would ask why you could not just use simple fire methods. This is something that you can do as well. But the job would be easier if you do it with the right equipment. And there are times when they are too far in the corner, the nozzle of the torch will help you reach it.

Before, the torching option was the first one to be introduced. But when the chemicals became available in the market. Burning these things became less and less of an option. But today because people know the possible harmful effects of using chemical products, they have switched back to the traditional method that is now improved with new equipment.

If you are willing to use the torching method, you have to do it properly. You must start with getting the right set of documentations such a s a permit. This is necessary especially if you are planning on burning a large scale of weeds. This is something that you can get from the fire department.

This may sound ironic but using water will help. You must sprinkle it around the weed or the soil that is surrounding it. It is done for the optimization of heat induction.

If you are only going to torch a few sprouts, there would be no need for a bigger flame. That is why you have to be careful when you turn on the torching device because it might emit a fire that is bigger than what you have expected.

According to the expert gardeners, the best times to get rid of these things is during the first weeks of spring. This is because the age of the sprouts are bound to be young. This way, there would be no need for you to use too much fuel. It is also a good thing to do this procedure during the morning when the sun is still not so high.

If you have pets or you have little kids, it would be best to let them stay inside or do it when they are still not awake. They might get burned or have an accident if they get involved. And since this is something that would only take a few minutes, you do not have to worry about anything.
