By Jeffrey Reynolds

Almost all people wanted to have brand new clothes that are on the trend. The satisfaction of the people could not be achieved easily. The always look for something new to their eyes that is why clothing shops always releases a bunch of style of clothing that would look appealing to their consumers.

Most garments and clothing, especially in those that are in places where cold climate occurs often, are using animals skins because they are very thick and is an effective way in combating the cold weather. Sheepskin is one of those animal skins that have been used by some clothing lines in incorporating in some of their apparels. But you should know that not all clothing lines are using a genuine sheepskin, others only use a faux sheepskin rug.

These faux sheepskins are imitations of real skins of sheep and are usually made of artificial and mixed with plastic fibers. They are used to blend a certain garment in order for it to look more stylistic. If you wanted to buy a garment that is made up of real sheepskin but you do not know how to detect a real one, here are some techniques in detecting one.

Glance at the brand names. Keep in mind that there are brand names which are using both the synthetic and the real ones. If you have an idea as to what brand names are using the true ones then use it as your advantage. Never forget also to be aware of those that are bringing a brand name but is actually fake.

Look at the label. A garment usually has an attached label. The label would actually tell you what constitutes the garment. The labels are often attached at the sides, especially in a garment like the jacket.

See the price. For the most part, genuine skins are really very expensive. It is because it is very difficult to obtain one. Once you see that the price is at low cost then the garment is more probably artificial.

Touch and stroke it. When you feel that the garment is a bit rough then it is probably fake. A genuine skin of sheep is totally smooth and soft upon touching it. A fake one feels coarse because it is only made of manufactured compounds.

Strike a pin through the cloth. When you strike the pin through cloth and it passes smoothly then it is probably a synthetic skin because this type is blended with plastic fiber so the pin can run smoothly in it. However, those real skins are very compact and rigid since they really come from real sheep unlike those faux skins which are only artificial. When you strike a pin through a true skin, it would often recoil because of its compactness.

There are numerous boutiques which are offering various items which have a genuine sheepskin. Make sure that you will not be fooled by those who say that they have the genuine material but they actually do not. You must do a thorough research first before planning to buy one.
