General Knowledge Is Very Helpful For The Kids

Appearing for the Civil Service Examination and other competitive examination, in order to an IAS and IPS service and also getting recruited to the IFS too is not very easy. The prelims for the IAS examination are an objective type paper which is held in the month of June every year. The first paper of the examination consists of general knowledge with maximum marks of 150, for which you have to answer 100 questions.

Along with the compulsory subjects the candidate also has to opt for two optional subjects for the list of optional subjects. There are some combinations of paper that you are not allowed to choose. You cannot combine Political Science & International relation and Public commission, commerce & accountancy and Management, Anthropology along with sociology, Maths with Statistics, and so on.

Next is the Mains examination which is a subjective question paper. It is held in the month of November and December; here the candidate has to appear over nine papers. Here there are some compulsory papers and some optional paper that the candidate can choose. The subjects include English, General studies that includes general knowledge and current affairs, other optional subjects.

When people look to have general knowledge about the history, they not only look to get information about the kings or the queens but also about the currency that was used at that time or even the culture they used to follow, also about the languages they used for communication and methods of transportation. Also gain information about the main occupations and how it evolved.

The personality test or the personal interview is the last stage of the competition and the last elimination stage of the competition. Here the ratio for the selection is 1:2 and the twice the number of seats the candidates appear for the interview. For example there are 50 seats available then a total of 100 candidates are selected for the interview.

One of the simplest things about a child is the curiosity with which they ask questions; you can see the hunger for learning more and increase their general knowledge. Helping your child to learn, names, places, animal, things can help them to increase their knowledge about several things. You can play interesting games about general knowledge to grasp more knowledge. Building up a strong foundation about general knowledge can definitely help them in future, where they appear for competitive courses and examinations.
