It is common knowledge that meat plays an important role in the body. It has a high content of proteins that help in bodybuilding. However, what most people do not think about is the quality of meat. Whether you enjoy white or red meat, whatever is fed to the animals where your meat is coming from affects its quality. This is why you need organic beef and pork which is health. This is because those fed on inorganic feeds grow fast but their meat is full of traces of chemicals that could be harmful to the human body.

Going by scientific studies, any meat from pasture-fed livestock does not contain a lot of cholesterol or unhealthy fat. Such meat actually packs the precious omega-3 fatty acids and a lot of vitamins. This makes it healthy for the heart as it can prevent cardiovascular complications. On the other hand, grain-fed livestock does not produce healthy products. Their produce is characterized by high contents of cholesterol which can actually encourage obesity.

One of the modern times diseases that has claimed millions of lives world over is cancer. This malignant growth of cells can occur on any part of the body. While treating cancer is a difficult and expensive affair, research has shown that conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) have anticancer properties. So feeding of foods with more CLA can help keep this disease at bay. Luckily, organic meats have high levels of CLA and this makes them a healthy choice that will boost your immunity.

Also, the CLA protein boosts metabolism a critical aspect of maintaining a healthy body and sugar balance. Some of its benefits include preventing type II diabetes in adults and children. So, go for pasture fed beef and pork as it is important in keeping your body healthy and free of diseases.

While grains are good sources of starch and proteins, they may not have enough levels of vitamins found in grass. This leaves farmer with only one option of feeding their livestock with synthetic vitamin concentrates. They may also need to use hormone enhancers that quicken the growth of the animals. Unfortunately there is no way to remove such hormones from the meats of the livestock and can cause adverse effects on consumers including triggering growth of cancer cells.

It is also helpful to feed the livestock on pasture where they can eat various plants with different nutrients. This way, you get tastier products that are rich in nutrients. Grain-fed animals cannot produce as tasty meats as the pasture-fed since they do not enjoy the biodiversity found in grazing grounds. So, if you value tasty meats, consider organically fed livestock.

Since only a few chemicals are applied in organic farming, their waste products are non-toxic. This makes them good choices for preparing farm manure. This is not true for inorganic feeds. They produce toxic waste with a lot of salt that can poison the soil and underground water. As a result, plants and micro-organisms might die. This makes organic farming good for people and the environment.

Well, organic products are not always cheap. However, their benefits outweigh the cost they come with. It is thus to okay to view using such products as a way of investing in your wellbeing.
