The Many Benefits Of Halal Certified Meals

Muslims live their lives according to the Islamic Law. This law contains numerous regulations that affect every part of the daily lives of all Muslims. There are many particular regulations related to the manufacturing, preparation and packaging of the food that Muslims consume. Food is an important part of being a Muslim. It not only nourishes the body but it also has an effect upon the morals and spirituality of every individual. That is why Halal certified meals are so important to them.

Certification is granted by a Halaal Council and they are meticulous in their evaluation of applicants before they approve an application. They need to be absolutely sure that all the rules are followed at all times. The process of getting certified takes some time and when it is granted, it is valid for one year only. Any lapse will most certainly cause certification to be withdrawn immediately.

There are some foods utterly forbidden to Muslims. They may not consume any alcohol, not even when medication that contains minute quantities of alcohol. Pork in all its forms is also strictly prohibited. Even the derivatives and extracts used in the preparation of food may only be sourced at specially licensed Muslim abattoirs where round the clock inspections of every single step of the process are conducted by Muslim inspectors.

It is not just the ingredients used in the preparation that are strictly controlled. The manufacturing process and even the packaging of food must conform to very strict rules. Halaal food may never come into contact with any other type of food. When this happens, the food must be discarded. The utensils, containers and cookware used to prepare Halaal food may only be used for that purpose and they must even be stored separately.

Anyone may apply for certification, not just Muslims. It is not even necessary that Muslims prepare or package the food, although Halaal councils recommend that there are Muslim supervisors present. The only criteria are that each and every rule contained in the Islamic Law is followed meticulously. Applicants do not have to limit themselves to the manufacture or preparation of Halaal food alone. They must, however, implement systems to avoid the contamination of Halaal food.

Halaal food are prepared and manufactured under strictly controlled circumstances. Only top quality ingredients are used and extremely high hygienic standards are maintained at all time. It is no wonder that so many people that are not Muslims also prefer Halaal food. Not only do they like the fact that such high standards are maintained, but they also say that this food is both healthier and much tastier than other food.

The market for Halaal food is massive. It is not surprising that there are dealers and suppliers that try to con consumers into thinking that their products are certified while they are not. They use vague terms such as Halaal friendly on their packaging and this fools some people. When buying food one should make sure that the official logo of the Halaal Council is displayed on the packaging.

There are no mystic elements involved in Halaal certification. It is simply a matter of high hygienic standards and the use of strictly controlled high quality ingredients. Unfortunately, much of the food consumed by non Muslims all over the world cannot compete with these high standards.
