Exploring A Santa Cruz Dispensary

By Annabelle Holman

There are a number of dispensaries in California. One of the most famous cities, Santa Cruz, south of San Francisco has several. It is for this reason visitors may want to read Santa Cruz dispensary reviews. Reading reviews can be good for a number of reasons. Whether to determine the best strain for a particular ailment, or where to shop in a specific area, reviews can often provide a great deal of insight and information.

The local MediCann office or yellow pages can be beneficial in locating different dispensaries. Also, there may be some listings which are outdated due to dispensary closures. Regardless, some in the city are reported to have some of the best medicine and service in the State. A listing of dispensaries is available from MediCann and other registration centers throughout California.

Patients, following local laws and guidelines are often okay. Others, who do not can often have difficulty if and when found in the possession of marijuana, medical or otherwise. It is also important that patients carry a California patient ID card at all times.

Two states, Colorado and Washington currently recognize the legal recreational use of cannabis. While this is the case, it still remains illegal under Federal guidelines. The same goes for medical marijuana in the states where it is recognized. Many supporters are hopeful that with the new rescheduling, the raids on dispensaries will cease.

If and when Colorado and Washington can prove the decrease in crime rates and added State budget surplus are the result of legalization, there are other states that will never follow suit. Some actually believe that only Federal interference and legalization on the Federal level is the only way many states will see the legalization of marijuana or gay marriage.

In other areas, while legalization is a goal, there are not enough supporters to supply the signatures for a ballot initiative. Most supporters also believe that redistricting going on in many areas is to offset voters in one party direction or the other. The United States did recently vote to reschedule marijuana to a lower level status than others.

Even though there is a 50 percent plus majority for legalization, each State has to pass its own laws. Colorado and Washington have taken the lead on this by passing legalization in 2012. The only issues with legalization at the moment appears to be in relation to driving under the influence. As with alcohol, when arrested for DUI, it can take massive amounts of money, time and possible jail time or community service to have the charge removed.

While cannabis is less potent than alcohol, there are some intense strains. When consuming these strains, individuals should not drive or operate heavy machinery. Warning labels from medical dispensaries in California and other states which recognize medical marijuana make this clear. As with alcohol, individuals need to act responsibly when consuming it whether as a recreational drug, or medication.
