Even After Skin Cancer I Found I Had To Find The Best Sunless Tanner For My Complexion Starts With The Skin

By Haywood Hunter

It seems quite laughable to us now when we look back on the 1980s and remember how so many of us were coating ourselves in baby oil, cooking grease, and anything else we could baste ourselves with for sunbathing. We have a whole new perspective on the dangers associated with sun exposure these days. We now know that we must protect our skin, and the importance of choosing the best sunless tanner is not lost on us.

Determining the correct product involves first identifying what skin tone the individual possesses. Those with fair or pale skin have a greater risk of sunburn, and therefore they are always warned to utilize a tanning cream or gel before spending a lot of time outside. Darker skin tones have less chance of burning, but a tanning lotion can help them maintain an even look to their skin.

Being adequately moisturized is important for the wind as well as the sun exposure. The autumn is a time when people often suffer chapped lips, cheeks, and hands when they are at the mercy of the wind. Those who love to snow ski also are intimately familiar with the fact that sun and wind are the primary culprits for dry, chapped, and burnt skin in the snow, although electric heaters can take partial credit for dehydrating the skin.

In addition to creams and gels, there are also spray-on solutions which are very popular with many women due to the even coverage provided by the sprayer. The downside of all these products, however, appears to be the resulting color coming out an orange or burnt umber rather than looking like a natural tan. It helps when one thoroughly exfoliates their skin prior to applying the tanning solution, as this allows the skin to absorb the product evenly.

Indoor tanning has become even more popular than gels, lotions, oils, or solutions. In fact, it is even more popular than laying out in the sun, as there seems to be a perspective that this form of tanning is less dangerous. This is not entirely true, however, and women need to know this.

In the aspect that one is better able to control their exposure, tanning beds may be more safe. However, some people will go too far with it, and the resultant burns are just as painful, and just as dangerous as anything one might get outside. The risk of falling asleep in the tanning bed is actually greater than the risk of falling asleep on the beach.

These days some of these tanning beds come with an alarm designed to wake the busy human inside when their allotted time has expired. Most beds will recommend increments of only fifteen minutes, and some beds truly enforce that rule. However, one is able to reset the thing for another time slot, and for this reason any business which boasts a tanning bed on site must be hyper-vigilant about keeping an eye on their clientele inside.

With coconut oil being all the rage these days, it is important to point out that there is coconut oil tanning products on the market. This allows for the deep hydration provided by coconut oil along with the skin-protecting benefits of a bronzer. So long as one is not allergic to coconut, this is a highly recommended product.
