What To Consider When Planning Your Wedding Food Watford

By Debra Walker

For any bride, planning a wedding can be a stressful time. You may feel overwhelmed by the number of options available to you. One decision that stresses many brides out is who will provide the wedding food Watford. If you still need to make this choice for your event here are some things that you can consider. Making some of these basic decisions can end up making it easier for you to select a service provider you will be happy with.

Foodies may want to plan an entire celebration around a meal but it is still important to decide where you will be hosting your event first. This is because many venues will have a list of preferred providers or may have cooking staff on site that they work with. Bringing in outside service providers may, in some cases, cause you to incur fines or surcharges that can end up being very expensive.

You should also think about what kind of meal that you want to serve. Do you want a plated meal or do you want a buffet-style dinner? If you are working with a smaller budget you may want to consider serving hors d'ouevres instead of a full meal. You may be surprised at how quickly the charges for this can add up so if you are serving a selection of smaller dishes to your guests it is important to keep track of your costs as closely as possible.

You should set a budget for your reception meal. Many caterers will talk to you about what your budget is and the number of guests you will be having at your celebration. They will then often narrow down your choices to the main dishes and side dishes that are available within that price range. Keep in mind that they may be able to work with you a bit on different side dishes but you may only have certain options as far as your main course.

In the past, most people served meat of various kinds along with different side dishes to their guest. Now though it is not uncommon for couples to be dealing with vegetarian guests. Food allergies and other dietary restrictions are also much more common. If you want all of your guests to be able to enjoy what they are eating it is important to take their needs and preferences into consideration when choosing what will be served at your event.

You may be tempted to leave some of your decision making until close to your event date but this may mean that you do not have as much choice when it comes to caterers. It is not uncommon for companies to book up well in advance especially during prime wedding season. Other companies may book up if you are planning your event on a holiday such as New Years.

Its fairly common for couples to schedule tastings especially if they are having trouble deciding which dishes they want to serve their guests. This can be a fun and exciting experience. At that time you may also want to discuss other options such as vegetarian or gluten-free choices that your guests will be able to have.

If you are still in the process of searching for a caterer, it may be a good idea to speak to couples who have married recently. You should find out how many guests they had and what feedback they got regarding the food that was served. If you do not have this option you may be able to find caterers online or through a venue site that you may be booking for your reception.
