When considering newborn photography Chicago suburbs residents can follow some tips for optimum results.

Safety is among the first things that needs to be considered. There are lots of tips when it comes to safety of babies. However, some basics have to be put into account. For instance, there should not be sharp or hard objects such as props around. Also, the new-born must never be placed in unsteady or high places without a spotter. Actually, some of the best photos are composites. Introduction of personal elements is what brings fantastic outcomes.

The baby needs to be as comfortable as possible. The most important aspect is the look of the baby, whether they are laughing, smiling or sleeping. In case a baby is not comfortable, they will most likely be fussy and start crying. You will not get good shots. If you suspect your hands might be too cold for the baby, gloves should be used. To make the room warm also, you can use space heaters and heating pads. When babies are warm enough they will be comfortable.

Selection of the right time frame is key. The magic window is usually within the first 14 days after they are born. This is the time that they are easiest to work with because they would be sleeping for most of the day. They are also very easy to adjust during this time. Preferably, the photos need to be taken after the umbilical cord has fallen off. This is usually after some 5 days or so.

You should be well conversant with basic poses to begin with. Being creative will be important but this should come after the basic poses are exhausted. After that, more advanced options can be considered. Going for basic poses is essential because in the event that the baby gets fussy before you finish taking photos, you would have exhausted the basics. When babies get fussy there might be no other option but to postpone the session.

Color coordination of scenes should be carefully considered. There are a number of sites online that are helpful when planning for matching coordination. There are compulsory color combinations that you can try and which are proven to be effective. It is advisable to organize and see the colors visually before the D-day. When you see colors before looking for props, it saves a lot of money. Creativity and research help to get perfect combinations.

In most cases, the natural light from windows and reflectors will be sufficient. It does not help to be so fancy when it comes to lighting. A large window and reflectors to keep off shadows will do.

The more one practices for new-born photography, the better they become with time. The use of professionals is also an option because they are the ones that know how to take perfect shots. There are many such photographers.
