Should You Choose A Travel System Or A Stroller?

By Elaine Smith

Many new parents will be asking themselves the question - do I need a travel system or a stroller for my new baby and which will be the most suitable one for my requirements? Of course the decision often comes down to budget as a stroller may work out to be the cheaper option, however a travel system offers more versatility and may be more suitable for your requirements.

Travel systems come into their all when you consider the requirements of transporting very young babies. It is recommended that newborns and the very young are kept lying flat when sleeping so a carry cot is required when transporting them. A popular travel system such as the Babystyle travel system will be compatible with both a carry cot and an infant car seat - thus meeting the requirements of the baby from birth. As most Babystyle travel systems can be bought as a package they end up being more cost effective than purchasing the separate pushchair, carry cot and car seat.

Parents of older babies who no longer need to keep them lying flat may prefer instead to simply purchase a stroller. If they already own an infant car seat which is suitable for the current age and weight of their child, a lightweight pushchair such as the Babystyle stroller may suit their needs perfectly. This kind of light and compact stroller can be easily lifted in and out of the car boot, making shopping trips and visits to the park a piece of cake.

When choosing equipment for their baby, many parents are of course governed by their budget. A lot of consumers nowadays spend time online researching products prior to making a purchase and the cost will be one of their main concerns. Customer reviews can aid them in the decision making process and they may prefer to stick to popular brand names as they consider them to be trustworthy.

Choosing either a travel system or a stroller will depend on the needs of the individual consumer. If they already have a suitable car seat that is not compatible with the majority of modern travel systems it is not worth investing in the entire travel system, however if they are starting from scratch, making this investment will be more cost effective and versatile in the long run.
