Are You Desperate For Angina Relief? Follow These Simple Steps

By Paul Hill

You may be suffering from a blocked artery if you find yourself having shooting pains in your chest on a regular basis. Lifestyle choices are largely responsible for these blockages. Luckily, angina relief can be found.

When you are diagnosed your physician will first determine the variety of arterial blockage that you have developed. Chronic stable, as well as unstable angina, are the two varieties that are the most likely. The chronic stable is characterized by pain resulting from a hardworking heart while unstable angina is characterized by increasing pain and will often require hospitalization.

If you suffer from the milder variety of this condition there is only a slim chance of you going to the hospital. This variety of angina makes your heart work much harder to transport oxygen in your body. This exertion of your cardio muscle leads to discomfort. Individuals with this variety will often experience relief after periods of rest. This condition causes stable aches brought on by exercise.

Unstable angina is the more serious variant of this heart condition. The pain will be similar to the milder form of this condition however it will slowly become worse. It will usually require you to seek immediate medical attention. Here you will receive a variety of medications and or a procedure where a small metal stent is placed in your arteries to help them stay open. In the most extreme cases, you will need to go for coronary bypass surgery.

People who are diagnosed with this condition will be given several medications that help to alleviate the symptoms. A drug that is highly effective is Aspirin. It helps make blood flow easier by thinning the blood. You may also be prescribed Nitrates to treat your condition. These types of medication help to widen and relax blood vessels to increase the flow of blood to the heart.

Angina that has progressed to the later more severe stages will often require some sort of surgery. The doctor will either decide that a stent needs to be placed or an angioplasty needs to be performed. This is a procedure where a catheter is placed into an artery in your groin. They will then insert a small balloon all the way up into your heart. This will help to open up the blockage however it will not keep it open forever.

Lifestyle changes are the most effective way to provide your body with relief. If you smoke you should stop eating immediately. It is also a good idea to stop consuming unhealthy fats and replace them with fresh fruit and vegetables and lean protein. You should also try to move more and exercise as often as you can. This will help to keep your heart healthy while also helping you to maintain a normal healthy weight.

This condition may be very serious, however, it is never too late to make a recovery. By making some lifestyle changes as well as taking your medication you will be amazed by the difference.
