Which Areas Are Best Suited For City Bicycling

By Rob Sutter

If you're interested in the concept of city bicycling, I am sure that you're curious about the places which are best suited for this activity. After all, you're not going to simply be riding around the block a number of times until you become tired of it, right? You're going to want to explore and go outside of the boundaries you might have set for yourself beforehand. There are a number of areas which are worth cycling inside of and you'll enjoy the experience which comes with it.

Perhaps you're looking into cities which are already established as far as cycling is concerned; Portland, Oregon may be the best. There are a number of bike lanes and paths which allow people to travel between neighborhoods safely. It's apparent that there are safer ways to move about than the main roads, so there seems to be more incentive to take up this particular hobby. This city is one of the few that's proactively on the matter, which sadly cannot be said for each one.

If warm climates and many landmarks are what you need for city bicycling, San Francisco may be a fine place to sart. It's easily one of the loveliest areas to travel across, especially when structures like the Golden Gate Bridge exist. If commuting from one spot to the next is what you want to take part it, it can be easily done in this city in particular. Amongst the many cities which authorities such as Linus Bike can recommend, this one falls into place well.

Perhaps you're looking for a mixture of the two ideas cited before; look outside of the United States for a moment and check into Canada. There are a number of places worth checking out, Niagara Falls being one of them. If you're in the mood to travel down a number of paths with your bike, you're most definitely in luck here. There could be upwards of 2,400 miles - and more, I could imagine - in Montreal made solely for the purpose of cycling and building roads for it.

City bicycling can be done in many areas but only a few of them seem to be truly ideal. They are the ones which have the roads built and the environments possessed in order to make traveling all the more enjoyable. Does anyone think that cycling is going to be ideal if you only go about it one or two areas, at the most? Sometimes it's best to expand one's horizons and I'm willing to believe that this kind of activity fits the bill nicely, too.
