Styles For Red Hair

By Darren Hartley

Red hair styles can be for everyone. It is all a matter of finding the right hue. The trick is to look at the eye color. A cool toned red with eggplant or plum undertones is best for women with blue eyes. Something that is more golden, or orange-coppery in color should be the option for women with brown eyes.

While only 2% of the American population have natural red hair, this does not necessarily mean that more women can not enjoy wearing this vibrant, energetic and head turning standing out red hair styles. It is all a simple matter of picking out the perfect shade of auburn, magenta, strawberry blonde or orange red that fits the skin tone.

The brown is already there in the pigments of red hair. This makes coloring or highlighting based on these underlying pigments make red hair styles last longer. Keep in mind that working with the natural pigments of the hair best complements the natural skin tone.

Choosing red hair styles with the same undertones compared to the skin is the best option to take. A golden copper hue would best suit a woman with yellow undertones. Opposing the skin tone with a hair color will only make a woman look washed out. That would be a terrible outcome for a woman who is working her way to looking her best.

Nicole Kidman, Karen Elson and Florence Welch are the celebrities to look up to when talking of women with light skin and red hair styles. They simply look marvellous.

It is the consensus of colorists that red hair styles suit women with pinkish or cool skin the best. It is actually a surprise to find that women with olive skin or golden hues have a tougher time finding a red hairstyle that comes out flattering to their skin tone.
