One thing that people most of the time do not do, is take care of their skin. People spend more time worrying about how they look than how healthy their skin is. When drying yourself off from a shower or bath, you shouldn't rub yourself vigorously. Patting yourself dry still removes the excess water, and leaves your skin with enough moisture to stay healthy.

Read the label of any products used to sooth redness. The less these products have in the way of ingredients, the better they work. Ingredient overload can wreak havoc on your highly sensitive skin. You could have more problems with your skin because of this. It may even cause additional breakouts.

A quick way to discover your skin type is by performing a simple tissue test. Whenever you first get out of bed, gently press a tissue on your entire face and observe the pattern of oil left behind. This will be a good indicator of the level of oil or dryness or combination of both, revealing your specific skin type. Having this knowledge will let you know which skin care products you should be using.

Eat foods with a lot of Vitamin E. Vitamin E has lots of antioxidants that can prevent free radicals. Papaya and almonds are great foods that contain high levels of vitamin E. Dark, leafy veggies also contain a lot of antioxidants.
