How To Make Soy Candles In Mason Jars With Scent

If you are looking for a new hobby this coming spring break or better yet something that you can earn extra cash with, then learning how to make soy candles in mason jars could be a great idea. Nowadays, candles have become a great alternative to provide a good and relaxing scent at homes thus making it a remarkable idea for small business or even a simple hobby.

In addition to that, a lighted candle always have that aura that make one feel relaxed. And with its scent it's enough to soothe anyone and forget about anything that had you feeling stressed out. What makes a candle a great bargain is its corresponding price. Its relatively cheap as well as simple to create. Even a twelve year old child can create one.

To be able to create your own candle, first thing to do would be to gather all the materials needed for the task. Materials used for candle making are nothing fancy at all, in fact this could be the cheapest hobby you could ever have. Basic items needed for the project includes soy wax, wick with anchors, containers, pencil, scented oils and a boiler, microwavable containers could be another option.

The whole process could be quick which is why, it's essential to have all the materials within arms reach and prepare the wicks before hand. One has to prepare the wicks before melting the wax. Stick or secure the wick on the center to the bottom of the container. Make sure to purchase a wick that has anchors or a sticky tape with them to be able to do it faster and with lesser hassle.

After which, hold the pencil in a horizontal manner across the jar and wrap the candle wick around it, up until the ares where you can rest the pencil on top of the jar. The pencil will help you hold the wick in place when you start pouring the melted wax to the jar. Start melting your wax, pour wax flakes that is twice as much the amount of it that you would need for the containers.

As as it is secure on the center, grab the pencil and start rolling the wick while the pencil is positioned horizontally and stop until you reach on the container's mouth the rest it there. Once you are done, you can now melt the wax either through the stove by the boiler or simple get a microwavable container made of glass and heat it.

You can use any kind of scent as long as it is in oil form, citronella, vanilla, lavender and chamomile are the top favorites. Keep in mind not to take too long in doing this, you do not want you wax to dry on your boiler. Pour down the melted wax into the jar with pencil in place so the wick will not be carried away by the wax.

The wax would harden almost immediately thus do not adjust or put anything just yet. Ideally, leave it be for the next three house before you can remove the pencil and cut the wick. Trim it half an inch or a quarter of it above wax level. Give it at least twenty four hours before you use it and enjoy its most relaxing aroma.
