Why City Bike Networks Can Prove Vital

By Rob Sutter

I'm not the kind of person who will constantly tout the importance of physical activity because I've been known to slack on that regard. I want to be as strong as possible in terms of activity but sometimes it can be tough when personal life gets in the way. You have responsibilities to uphold and you may be tired by the time you may have wanted to get back into shape. Thankfully, it seems like city bike networks can help out in ways that normal workouts cannot.

It seems like cities have a plentiful amount of people riding bikes from place to place and I have to respect their abilities to do so. However, I can't help but feel badly for them, since they are almost stuck with the idea of riding amongst heavier vehicles such as trucks and cars. Even though there are physical benefits of utilizing bicycles in comparison, surely there must be safer ways to go about this. For those who may not know about this one method, it can stand to be seen more often.

City bike networks seem to be novel ideas but why is it that they are ignored by many areas? One of the reasons to consider is the potential shortage of people actually going about bike riding. This can change from city to city quite quickly; one area may have an entire demographic that goes with bicycles over motor vehicles while others have fewer numbers of riders. Maybe the latter numbers can grow thanks to the inspiration that companies along the lines of Linus Bike can show.

These networks have done excellent work in terms of travel and allowing people a good path to move about. Exercise, as I've stated before, is not something that can be so easily attained and this is partially due to the complicated nature of many a personal life. How exactly are people going to find the time to exercise when jobs and social lives tend to get in the way? Cycling doesn't seem to take up much time, especially when it can be done in order to go about those aspects of social life.

City bikes should, in my opinion, be used at much greater levels because of how exercise can be gained. It's one of the best forms of working out but I think that people are going to use it based on how long of a trip it may be from home to work and vice versa. After all, do you want to be entirely fatigued by the time you get to your place of employment? This is going to change depending on who you talk to, I believe, and many may still go about it because of the physical burn it can give.
